Planet Dog Foundation

More Than a Dog Toy

Planet Dog is proud to donate 2% of every sale of any Planet Dog Product to PDF to finance the grant budget. In turn, PDF funds programs that train, place and support working dogs helping people in need.

More then a dog toy company.  From the earliest days of Planet Dog, the founders were committed to creating a national grant program to make maximum impact with limited resources. As a company that celebrates all things dog and that is supported by customers who cherish their pets, Planet Dog is proud to donate 2% of every sale of any Planet Dog Product to PDF to finance the grant budget. In turn, PDF funds programs that train, place and support working dogs helping people in need.

Therapy dogs. Service dogs. Search & rescue dogs. Bomb sniffing dogs. Police dogs. The Planet Dog Foundation celebrates all working dogs that are enhancing and saving human lives.

Two rescue groups are coming together to form Cincinnati’s first pet food pantry.  Recycled Doggies, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Cincinnati Dog Rescue, and the Pet Alliance hope to open their doors at the Queen City Self-Storage, 4775 Red Bank Expressway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227 (located behind the Red Bank Emergency Vet Clinic just off I-71 at the Red Bank exit) on March 6th.  Each Saturday in February the rescue groups are conducting a food drive in an effort to stock up for their March opening.

Cincinnati’s pet food pantry needs financial donations as well.  You can mail in financial donations, which are tax deductable, to the address below.  It is best to contact the pantry by calling (513) 275-5842 or emailing cincinnatipetfoodpantry@gmail.com with any questions or if you are interested in volunteering.

Dog and Cat Cancer Fund Story:

Dear Friend,

The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund was founded in 2007 to honor the memory of Oly and Zuke, both of whom succumbed to canine cancer, and to help prevent the loss of more dogs and cats to the disease. Oly was a Golden Retriever who passed away from canine hemangiosarcoma in 1990. He was only 8 years old.

In 1994 Patrick got a Chocolate Labrador puppy and named him "Zuke". Zuke was full of boundless energy, which resulted in the founding of a company in his name, Zuke's Performance Pet Nutrition. At the age of 7, Zuke was diagnosed with canine lung cancer and ultimately succumbed to the disease in 2001.

In honor of Oly and Zuke we founded the Dog & Cat Cancer Fund. Zuke's commitment to the health of dogs and cats is evident in their products and in their pledge to donate a percentage of annual profits to the Dog and Cat Cancer fund every year. Zuke's has committed $10,000.00 USD to the cause for the fiscal year 2007 and expects to contribute more in 2008.

If you would like to join the cause, please consider making a donation by clicking the button at the top right.

Sincerely,

Queen City Greyhounds

Queen City Greyhounds' mission is to find suitable homes for retired racers, raise funds for the placement of retired greyhounds, and educate the community about greyhounds as pets.

The organization is made up entirely of volunteers.  Our belief is that all greyhounds need to spend time in a foster home with an experienced greyhound owner before being adopted.  The transition from the track to a home is significant for these dogs and learning about houses, furniture, glass, mirrors, steps and animals other than greyhounds takes a little time.  As we get to know the dogs, we also can do a better job placing the greyhound in the right home.  We can also test to see if the dog is cat safe, small dog safe and child safe.  Remember that these dogs were trained at the track to chase small furry lures. Running cats and small dogs can look like the lure they were trained to chase.  At the track, greyhounds have never seen children.

We can always use volunteers, so if you are interested in helping these magnificent animals, please let us know.
